A little bit from our week…
One of my very favorite things is introducing people to the Doughnut Plant! Our friend Nate was visiting New York this week, and I kind of forced him to eat doughnuts….If anyone comes to visit us in New York, be prepared, because I will do the same to you!
Two of the newest doughnut flavors, banana walnut and green tea. The green tea flavor was the only one I’ve tried that I haven’t really liked…it tasted really weird.
On Saturday we walked around Soho exploring different bookstores. The Phaidon bookstore was my favorite…The space was gorgeous and every one of their books are absolutely beautiful!
There is a cute little restaurant that I highly recommend for breakfast called Kitchenette. The breakfast is comfort food at its finest, the cheese grits are delicious, and I love that they serve their drinks in Mason jars.
My favorite restaurant at the moment…The Dutch. I have mentioned this place before in my blog, but it had to be mentioned again. Their homemade pies are THE BEST!!!! And I could go on and on about their honey biscuits….They are open until 2 am every day of the week so if you have a late night sweet craving, this is the place! How good does this peach pie look???
Burgers at JG Melon on the Upper East Side. Nothing fancy, but very tasty. I love the vibe of this place…cash only, lots of regulars and locals, no reservations, and always packed.
Never underestimate the power of spray paint! It is one of these cheapest and easiest ways to update something in your home. We have made multiple things in our apartment “our own” by changing it up with spray paint. We have been wanting to add a punch of red to our place, but I was never able to find the right thing. I ended up finding a really cheap end table at Urban Outfitters, sprayed it red, and it turned out perfectly!

“J” and “M” pinky rings that I got at a store in Williamsburg…my fave new accessories. They stand for Jana and Miller unless I’m mad at Miller- then they just stand for Jana Mobley- ha, only kidding!

Red table = perfect! I love it! and I love that you had to force nate the donut! you KNOW you would probaly have to do the same with me – how lame
LOOOOVE YOU
I love the joy you take from food. That is probably a reason why you are so slender! You enjoy your meals as a food experience like the French/Swiss do! Very “oh la la” of you!
